I had the absolute privilege of capturing Katy and Lee’s small Bakewell Town Hall elopement wedding. The town of Bakewell is a beautiful location for your winter wedding. The cobbled streets and old brick buildings make a wonderful backdrop to your wedding. When Katy and Alex reached out to me to photograph their wedding, I jumped at the chance!
Katy and Lee wanted someone to capture their small, intimate elopement wedding in the village of Bakewell, Derbyshire. The plan was to have a small, intimate ceremony at Bakewell Town Hall, followed by attaching a love lock to the famous bridge in Bakewell. We all had our fingers crossed for the weather, but we need not have worried! The weather, although cold, stayed dry.
On the day of the wedding, I met Lee and Katy at the Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell. This old hotel is just bursting with character, and was just perfect for some quick ‘pre-wedding’ pictures. We then only had a short walk across the street to get to Bakewell Town Hall, where the ceremony was to take place. Everyone was so excited to see a bride in Bakewell, and it was lovely to hear some many people congratulating Alex and Katy on their special day! Plus, I only nearly got ran over by cars a handful of times! Result! 🙂
The ceremony was lovely, and it was obvious how much love was in the room. After the ceremony, Lee and Alex wanted to immortalise their love for each other by attaching a lock to the famous love lock bridge in Bakewell. From the bridge, we walked to a small local park, away from the crowds where we got some more lovely shots of the couple.
I had a wonderful time photographing Lee and Alex’s Bakewell Town Hall elopement wedding. I can’t wait to photograph more weddings here in the future!
