I’m always on the lookout for new locations for family photoshoot sessions. Padley Gorge hadn’t been on my radar, until recently, as it is quite a drive from where I’m based. However, despite the distance, I am definitely recommending this location to all my clients from now on! For an extended family photoshoot, you simply can’t get it wrong at this location. There’s lots of open space for the kids (and dogs) to run around. Huge boulders make great hide-and-seek spots, and kids will love climbing them to get a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside. Every direction I point my camera, I’m greeted with a breath-taking view.
This extended family photoshoot at Padley Gorge, Derbyshire, was simply magical. We got to the location just before sunset, when the light was at its softest. The results definitely speak for themselves, as we managed to capture some lovely posed and candid shots of the family. Despite this being midwinter, when the weather was definitely pretty chilly, the kids were absolute troopers. Having the open space and rocks to play around definitely kept them warm and prevented any boredom. I’ve never had a shoot before where the kids were so reluctant to go home!
These are the photoshoots that remind me why I got into photography in the first place. A family photoshoot at Padley Gorge is a fantastic opportunity to capture some stunning photos of your family, in a beautiful location. I also plan on using this location for my engagement shoots too.
Have these pictures inspired you to have your own family photography session? Great! Let’s get it in the diary! Or maybe you’re looking to book a wedding/engagement photographer? Padley Gorge is a fantastic location for families and couples alike! Just remember, I have limited availability, so book early to avoid disappointment.
