Family Photoshoot at Attenborough
I think people can be somewhat hesitant to ask me whether they can bring their dog along for their family photoshoot. I assume this is because some people can be a bit nervous around dogs, or maybe they worry their dog might misbehave? Well – worry not! I absolutely love dogs (and all animals for that matter!). They are definitely a part of your family and have every right to be in your photographs. I’d love to have some family photos taken with my cat, but he would probably not take kindly to it…
Having worked with numerous dogs, I know that they can get a bit over excited sometimes and some get a bit jumpy. The prospect of bringing them to family photoshoot might seem a bit daunting, however I’m yet to meet a dog that I couldn’t get a nice photo of 🙂
Attenborough Nature Reserve Family Photos
This photoshoot was especially nice for me because I got to work where I grew up – Attenborough! I lived my entire childhood life in the village, and it was so exciting to do a shoot so close to home. It also meant I could pop across and see my parents for a free lunch! Attenborough actually turned out to be a fantastic place for a family photoshoot. It was there that I met Sydney and her family, including the most important member of the family – Pog!
Pog was such a lovely dog, although I had been told that his health was deteriorating quite rapidly. As such, the family wanted to make sure they had some photos of them all together. We had a lovely walk around the nature reserve, and managed to get some lovely shots on the way. The nature reserve proved to be a beautiful backdrop for the photos. Getting there early meant we managed to avoid most of the crowds. The foliage and wildflowers look simply stunning at this time of year!
Even if you’re not having a photoshoot, Attenborough Nature Reserve makes for a fab day out. There’s a lovely little café that serves hot drinks and delicious food. There is loads for kids to do too: my two year old is obsessed with the mud kitchen! And finally, of course, there’s the stunning wildlife. Make sure you bring along your binoculars so you can spot all of the rare and interesting bird species making their home in Attenborough!
I can’t wait to go back for another family photoshoot at Attenborough!
