Welcoming a newborn into the family is one of life’s magical moments. I was so honoured that after I did a maternity photoshoot for Fiona and Jack, they then booked me for their newborn photoshoot at home too! I couldn’t wait to meet baby Eden and take some photographs for the family that they will (hopefully!) treasure for years to come!
The beauty of a home photoshoot lies in its authenticity and intimacy. You’ve just had a baby! The last thing you want to be doing is dragging them, and you, out the house to an unfamiliar studio. This is why I always recommend you have your newborn photoshoot at home instead! Jack and Fiona’s house was joy to shoot in. Natural light filled all the rooms, giving the photos a lovely warm, homely feel.
From the moment I arrived for the photoshoot, the love and warmth between Fiona, Jack and Eden was palpable. New-born babies grow up so quickly, so it was important to get some close up shots of the little details. We got some beautiful shots of Eden’s hand holding her dad’s finger, as well as some close ups of the adorable wrinkles on her feet. These images will serve as a timeless reminder of just how delicate and precious Eden was when she was a new-born!
Choosing what to wear for your babies first photoshoot can feel a bit daunting! I tend to advise plain, neutral coloured clothing for both you and your baby. I’d avoid anything too eye-catching, to keep the attention focused on your babies features. You definitely want to stick to clothes that make you feel comfortable, both physically and in yourself. Sticking to timeless, classic outfits will ensure that your photos stand the test of time!
Then get in touch, and let’s start planning your perfect newborn photoshoot!
