Getting everyone together for an extended family photoshoot photoshoot can be a daunting, and possibly frustrating experience. Some people might work shifts, some might live far away etc etc. So when you do finally manage to get everyone together, it had better be worth it! I find that with my own immediate family, there’s lots of pictures of us together. But then when I start to consider family that I don’t see that often, this really isn’t the case at all. Just because I might not see them that often, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t incredibly important people to me. Having photographs of your ENTIRE family all together, although possibly tricky to achieve, is definitely worth it!
Catherine and her extended family were holidaying in the Peak District when I met them at Ilam park for an extended family photoshoot. This included family that lived over in Canada that they rarely saw. For this reason, it felt especially important that I captured natural, relaxed shots of the whole family together. I had never been to Ilam Park before, but a quick Google told me all I needed to know! The pictures of the park looked stunning, and when I turned up, I was not disappointed! Combining the beautiful location with the soft morning light of winter, and well… just see for yourself! Catherine and her family were so much fun to work with too. I always try and make my photoshoots fun and exciting for children, and using locations like Ilam Park where there’s so much to see and explore really helps children relax and just be themselves. And as you know, if the kids are happy, the parents are happy too! So it’s really a win-win 🙂
