Families like Michelle’s are truly the reason I got into family photography. This was one of those family photography sessions where you can’t help but feel the love! As a Derbyshire Family photographer, I live for sessions like this! We had to make a last minute change to the location of this shoot due to an unexpectedly large amount of mud, but I’m so glad we did. We timed it just right, arriving at the park about an hour before sunset. When we got there, we were greeted by some wonderful golden hour light. Golden hour is definitely my favourite time to photograph families. You just can’t replicate that warm golden glow in a studio!
I was told by Lydia’s mum that she had recently had some portraits taken at nursery, and that the photographer there had shown her how to pose for photos. Well she was definitely putting those talents to use on this photoshoot (see the pics below!). We all had such a fun time, and it was such an honour to freeze a moment in time that this family can always look back on in years to come.
Belper river gardens is definitely a location I would recommend as a Derbyshire family photographer. Not only is it a beautiful location to take pictures, but there’s so many other things there to keep kids entertained. There’s a large park for the kids, as well as a cafĂ© serving hot drinks and food. We only live just up the road, and my daughter loves trips there to feed the ducks and go on the swings. It really is a gem in the heart of Derbyshire.
Are you looking to book your own family photoshoot in Belper? If so, send me a message, and we can start to plan your very own Derbyshire family photography session.
